need some SERIOUS HELP! - extremely frustrating!!!

so the last few days i've been trying to add in some new numbers by hitting the 'Contacts' icon --> 'Contacts' tab --> Settings --> +New Contact.

but nothing happens...i still have my 123 contacts i had before...why won't it add? i then go to gmail.com and sign in and my contact list has the added number/person i tried adding onto my phone!! i then go on my phone and hit settings-->accounts-->import from my gmail account and it STILL doesnt appear, its impossible to add contacts to this damn phone!! im extremely frustrated and about to go to the verizon store but you all are a load better and smarter so i am counting on some reliabiliy here. please help

again, phone isnt adding my contacts manually (is it a bug/app that is making this error? ive only updated a couple apps i have and i have like 2 games, and chompSMS, missed call, SMS Popup and ringdroid that are the only apps i use besides from the stock ones on phone...)

No sure if this would help, see if under contacts select menu>display options if prompted select your gmail account and then make sure that "my contacts" is checked.

Edit: Also make sure that background sync is turn on as well. On the home screen select menu>settings>accounts & sync. place check on background data, maybe even have auto-sync check for the time being. You can turn that later back off if eveything works out.

Does the contact you're entering have the same, or similar, name as one of your Facebook contacts? If so, and you use Facebook sync, it's automagically merging the records together. I have the same problem with my brother (James) and my niece (Jamie).

go to contacts/hit menu/display options/select your gmail account/ check allthe boxes your contacts should show then.. let us know.
