My droid texts the WRONG person!

This has happened a couple times to me now. It will show one name up top, and a different name in the text body. I think I'm sending the text to the person in the text body, and the person who is on top is the one received the text! It's happened enough times now where I have to make sure both names are the same. Usually getting out of messages and getting back in clears in up, but why should I have to deal with this? My phone is bone stock, I have a few programs but nothing out of the ordinary.

had a friend with a couple of these cases. he called me and thought i was his mom, according to his phone it was his mom's number he highlighted.
