Multiple Icons

My wife has a Droid and somehow has gotten multiple icons for phone, facebook, and settings on her phone. My question is how do I remove them? I tried holding the icon, getting it to "wiggle" and then moving it to the bottom. No luck there. I think it has to do with the fact these aren't just applications but functions. So, anybody have any idea how to remove these multiple icons from the phone. Thanks

Jim, if a phone reset doesn't do the trick i would advise taking into a Verizon store! That's quite an interesting scenario

Try a soft reset, I had this early on in mine too. So, power off, pull the battery, and then restart. Hopefully this cures the problem, otherwise you may be having a different issue.

Tried the soft reset and no luck. Looks like we might be off to the Verizon store shortly unless someone else has any ideas. Thanks for all your help.

I actually got on tonight to search for this exact problem...I've had the same thing happen the last couple days. Any luck finding an answer?

I found an answer....hold down the icon and bring down to 'trash'...AS SOON as both turn red release the extra icon.

BINGO, that did it! Thanks to you and everyone that helped. I'm still new to the Droid and Eris. I came from a Palm Treo 650 and this is a totally new universe but, like the Treo, these boards are a life saver and it's good to see that usually someone has had the same problem you have and there is a way to solve the unsolvable.
