I use the movies one and love it. Auto updates to your gps location when you choose nearby theaters, you click the theater you want and you can read user reviews and critic reviews (who cares what critics think...their all idiots), times and everything, very well done interface. And of course it's free but I would buy it if it were purchaseable
yea I use Movies and its great. It has trailers too. One feature I like, even though its no big deal, is having all the movie theaters I frequent on a favorites list. That way checking movie times at the theaters I want is extremely easy. Also great to just see whats playing. The gps feature is nice too. I've been in areas I wasn't too familiar with and was able to find nearby theaters that had the movie I wanted to see.
I use Movies, too. I believe it's partnered with Rotten Tomatoes. Personally, I'm a big fan of IMDb. I just wish they had a solid app like Movies by Flixster (or it would be nice if you could switch from Rotten Tomatoes reviews to IMDb reviews...).
i decided to give Movies a shot since everyone here seems to like it, and i'm loving it so far. the only thing is, there's a theatre it has on the list that i've NEVER heard of in my own town. lol. imma take a drive there today to see if it's really there. cause this theatres like 10 minutes away, and the next closest one is like 30 minutes away.
i'm loving the app so far, and if it turns out there's really a theatre there, the app also helped me find a closer place to watch movies! which is just awesome.
that's what i TRIED to ask. and all i got was the second statement of "just try it and find out". i'm happy with Movies for now i guess. i actually got responses with helpful info. so unless someone can actually state a reason why fandango would be better, i'm pretty happy with Movies so far.
Well, given the general quality of discussion in this thread, trying it out firsthand has been one of the better suggestions, actually. I don't use these apps much but I seem to recall that none of them seemed to offer ticket purchasing for all the theaters I frequent in my city.
