Mabage Apps

Hi, New user to smartphone so bear with me. On advice from Motorola support upgraded to latest version of Android. Now have loads of Apps which I don't use. Under Manage Apps if I select an App and say Disable I get a pop up which warns me that 'disabling a built-in app other apps may not function correctly'. Is it OK to go ahead and disable the app ? If you are stock then yea it is OK to disable those. They don't let you disable anything "important." That warning just means you cant use the app you are disabling until you enable it.
