Could someone explain what the hubbub is about ulv kernels and lv and mv and whatever else is available. Can I flash these kernels with any rom? (currently on leaked nandroid 2.2 w. droptheme, considering upgrading to BB w. droptheme (if possible))

Ok so what are the pros/cons of using higher/lower voltages?

Better battery life is just a slight benefit of the lower voltages... but cooler CPU temps is the main benefit...too low could cause instability due to not enough voltage to run all running apps

Chevy's 1.25 uLv runs super cool, I was amazed when I was ruining it.

Hah, I'm running the 1ghz ulv kernel, underclocked to 500mhz..

I still get better performance than a stock droid, but oh man, the battery life!

I think it was bugless that I tried? When 2.2 was leaked, but before Chevy had released his 2.2 RoM. No joke, overclocked on the BB ROM, with moderate phone usage, my phone wouldn't make it through the day.

Then Chevy released 4.1 and I ran that one with the same OC, but with Chevy's ulv kernel. At the end of the day, with heavier usage, my battery was about 50%.

Now that I'm running it at 500mhz, I went to bed last night, and my battery said 80%. I love Chevy's work, and wont be moving elsewhere anytime soon.

Is there a way to tell your CPU's temperature? I wanna know what temperatures are consider "cool" to you.

Temp monitoring is currently broken in Froyo, hopefully we will get this fixed with the new code release. But, I have to agree about the temps on Chevy's ULV kernals, even coming from a LV one I can definitely feel how much cooler my Droid is running.

Actually System Panel and OSMonitor both reads the CPU temps...

OSMonitor won't run on my phone. I get FC. System Panel doesn't show my CPU temps.

Have used bekit and p3 kernels in the past. was running jrummys kangerade with the p3 (sv 1.1 oc'd) but it seemed like it got hot quick and the battery life was not there. switched to chevy's uLV 1.1 yesterday and it seems better on both issues.

thanks for all you do ChevyNo1!
