Love the The Incredible but.....

I have some quick questions regarding the HTC Droid Incredible.

1) When I get a text message or email, is there a way that the screen lights ups regarding the notification or will the phone light up the green light?

2) Is there another way to access the phone other than using the lock key or is that the only way?

As for the phone itself, I love it! This is my first smartphone and I really enjoy it.
Previously I had the LG Dare and when comparing it to this phone, wow...really is a night and day difference.

1. Not that I know of. Possibly there's software that does that.
2. Yes you can use the trackpad to unlock the phone
