Hey everyone. I am a verizon customer and have been looking to switch phones. I have been wanting a smart phone for a while. Can anyone tell me about the plans and fees involved with the Droid?

:welcome:

The fees are as follows:

Voice/texting plan - For individuals it is $59.99 a month for 450 minutes/unlimited texting
Data plan - $29.99 a month

Several people have dropped the texting plan to save $20/month by using a Google Voice account. You can search to find out more information about that - I will be doing it in the future as it lowers the blow of the data charges.

Ok. So say i am already on a plan, and there are 3 of us on the plan. Will the $30 just be added in? Or do I have to start a new plan?

I would say no, but it depends on how old you plan is too. I had the basic family share plan and just added the data plan.

Awesome, I am just wondering all this cause I am a nursing major in college and I spend most of my money on food and rent and would have to pay for the plan. But $30 a month is definitely affordable

I'm in college too. I don't mind putting up the additional $30/month for all of the extra benefits - they are endless for students... especially those of us attached to our emails :icon_ banana:

Yeah that is probably the main reason that I want to get a 3g smartphone. Instant email notification just seems necessary
