Is there an app that will give you directions from "my location" to a latitude and longitude? Google Maps does not seem to have this ability.

What did you try in Google Maps? It works for me. I think you just have to make sure you have coordinates that more or less correspond to an actual road.

How so? You can enter lat & long for a destination.

I mean, I just entered 29° 25′ 32″ N, 98° 29′ 10″ W (29.425556, -98.486111) would work as well, based on prior experience) for the Alamo in San Antonio as a destination and had no problems getting directions.

It does require data coverage though. A geocaching/tracking type of app might be better suited.

I personally use google maps on my droid while at work to figure if a geocaching puzzle answer is plausible. Use the layout of Serach: n 29° 25.320 W 098° 29.100. The google maps tends to come up with the nearest address, but usually has a green arrow at the actual coordinates.
