Light Sensor Problems since 0.7

I have been having problems with the light sensor since upgrading the GB nightly build to 0.7 (maybe it was also a problem in 0.6 and I just didn't notice).

I use a tasker profile to automatically set the screen brightness to "auto" when the light sensor reads 75-100%, and to the lowest when the light sensor reads below 75%. But tasker won't seem to switch anymore.

I tried installing "androsensor" and it seems that the light sensor reads only 10 lux (the minimum) and never gets any higher.

I cleared data and cache during 0.8.

Did my light sensor break, or is this a liberty beta/gingerbread problem?

On Liberty GB v0.8, the light sensor works here with both tasker and sensor info apps. Does it still show 10 lux even with a flashlight/lightsource pointed at the sensor?

I didn't actually try a flashlight until you suggested that. Shining a light directly into it reads 21525 lux, but there is no in-between. Outside in full sunlight it only reads 10, and my tasker profile (the same profile which worked previously, and I re-made to check if that was the problem) does not activate even under the direct light.

Must be a problem with my device specifically... Maybe something to do with the fact that I switched from Verizon's screen protector to Ghost Armor? (both cover the light sensor, but that was somewhere around the same time as the problems started...)
