LG is one of the big players this year at CES. They have announced their new lineup of TVs, and have also announced a couple of really cool robots. The Hub Robot and the smaller version of the bot are meant for in home use. These robots control your LG smart home devices. They can play music, offer travel advice, and be sort of like your personal assistant. This is similar to an Amazon Echo, but it has a happy smiling face to interact with.

The Airbot will be your assistant at the airport. It will be able to give you travel information, as well as boarding info, and can even escort you to your terminal. The Airbot will rollout first in South Korea's Incheon airport. Of course this robot might also make it to an Airport near you and later versions may be able to assist you at the mall or any other local place of business. This is the beginning of Robotic hotel and restraunt hostesses. How do you feel about your imminent robot assisted future?

I don't understand why we think we need robots so bad. I am pretty heavily anti-robot.

Are they going to have 30 robots at the airport so I don't have to wait in line to ask what gate my flight departs from? The giant screen that 30 people can see at once... that's just to old school? I don't need your slow robot to walk me to the gate...

I have similar feelings toward robots, not quite as hard core but similar. It makes sense that they are starting at Incheon airport though. If you've ever been there you would see they love cool, flashy, techy gadgets.
