Target just made it tempting to try out an LG G Watch. The retailer is selling the smartwatch (in store only) for half off its original price. The usual price of the device is $160, which drops it down to $80 USD. Interestingly, it looks like this is also a way for Target to push their Cartwheel App, which is basically a target shopping experience app.

To get this offer you have to use the app to sign up for the coupon and then scan the Cartwheel barcode at the register. This offer ends May 9th, and is only available while supplies last. For those interested, here are a couple of handy links below that can get you setup before you go into your physical location store.

Great deal on a nice device. Wonder if this has anything to do with Google pushing out wifi support on the software side and the G watch not having wifi capabilities...

Even still. Worth the price IMO.

I think it's early yet. Not seeing any reports of how well the wifi features really work on devices that have it. I think it's still a decent price to get a feel for a smart watch. Beats paying $200+ to get one with wifi and not much else extra just to find out you don't like it/feel like you need it. Just my opinion though.

Still waiting on second and third generation innovation.

I bought one of these last week for my wife from At&t, they had them on sale for $49. She loves it, great battery life, and all the functions she could ever want. $80 is a little bit more, but might still be worth it for someone's first Android Wear device that might not need all the latest and great features.

$50? Man at that price I might get one.
Wi-Fi ? We don't need no stinking Wi-Fi.

I honestly can't think of anytime I'd need that feature.

I would still recommend this watch to anyone...with or without WiFi built in. If someone is looking for a good android watch and does not want to spend much...this is a great deal. Yes, it will not have the new WiFi functionality, but other than that it's still a rugged, sporty, android wear watch. I know two people that have been on the fence about buying one after seeing mine, and I plan on making sure they know about this deal.

I passed this thread info onto my twin brother, definitely not in the market for a smartwatch and he's going to pass it along to his co-workers.

Agree with Sajo.
Retract my statement in second post for 2 reasons:
That was coming from someone that knows he will be into AW at least through a second gen. These guys reminded me why I was willing to try. It was cheap. So I wouldn't feel I wasted money by only spending $100 on one. Now that I know, I'm glad I didn't spend $200+ on a first gen. I won't feel bad spending that on the next Asus or 360.
And second, I am trying hard to think of any reason I'd want the WiFi.
I can't.
So yea, on-the-fencers....get this. :D
