Stock S8+. When I install an app Android starts a new page on my launcher even though there is plenty of room on all the other 5 pages. It didn't used to do this. What is the setting that fixes this?

Have you looked at Play Store > Settings > Add Icon To Home Screen? Uncheck that option and it should stop

Following These Steps:

· Swipe your finger from top to bottom on the screen to view the notification panel

· Touch the Settings or

· Touch Apps

· Touch Menu or

· Touch Reset App Preferences

· Touch Reset Apps

· Swipe from right to left 2-3 times to show the ALL list.
(For device running on Android 6.0.X touch Menu then Show system)

· Touch Launcher
(For device running on Android 6.0.X touch Stock Android then Storage)

· Touch Clear Data

· Touch OK

· Power Cycle Phone

· Test phone

You might want to provide a warning about Clearing Data on the Launcher. Folks that don't know what "Clear Data" does to an app will be surprised if they clear data on their Launcher and don't realize what will happen.
