I have a moto droid running CM 5.0.8 and rom manager and want to update to 6.0 RC1, but I download the rom from rom manager, get to where it says "click OK to reboot into recovery and apply update," then when I click on OK, the phone freezes and reboots (but not into recovery image). any ideas?

Or am i stuck downloading the zip and applying the rom manually from the recovery image?

Check the "erase recovery" box in settings and then reapply Clockwork Recovery under "All ClockworkMod Recoveries".
Occasionally recovery gets screwed up with all of the updates.
You should then be able to upgrade through RM.

Still didn't work, phone only hangs for about 2-3 seconds on the okay button now, but still never boots to recovery image

You can also try flashing alternative recovery and then reflashing clockwork.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the recovery image because i can boot into recovery just fine and perform operations there, its just the app that hangs. i've tried uninstalling the updates and reinstalling the rom manager and still no-go

Do it the old fashioned way. Put the rom on the sdcard, reboot into recovery, select install from Sdcard, select the rom and hit enter. Screw Rom Manger.

Looks like I completely misinterpreted your issue then. I'd suspect that the cm6 package needs to be redownloaded. Clear your cache in Rom Manager and give it another shot.
