Is there a way to stop the "Social Networking" app from notifying me?

I get dual notifications since the Gingerbread install... one from the FB app I installed and one from the crappy MotoBlur app.

I was getting the same with my emails. In my accounts I went into the google account settings and unchecked the sync mail. Maybe there is something.g similar for facebook.
