Including contact info in text replies

Sorry guys, this is kind of a tough one to explain: I've gotten several texts from friends that go something like this: "Do you have Jim's number?". Assuming I don't know Jim's number by heart, is there a way to paste or insert numbers/email addresses/etc from one (or several) of your contacts into SMS, email, Astrid, etc?

I know I'm being lazy but I only have the Droid to blame It can do almost anything else....

With handcent you can attach a contacts # into the message. I'm not sure about attaching email addresses though or if you can do this with the stock messaging app
