I did forget to mention this was my second RAZR in 2 weeks and my 8th phone call. I interupted because the calls are scripted. I did not call for help...I called to put the money I pay each month to use since I don't get my data. I pay an extra 30 bucks a month for 4 gigs and have only gotten to use 168 mb's. But hopefully they figure this out....
Here is a question that may be kind of dumb but oh well. Will upgrading the phone to ics which is essentially a new operating system erase everything that has been downloaded on the phone (music, apps, etc)causing it to basically be a factory reset??? Thanks in advance
Last time I called they said it was because I was to far away from a certain tower. And 4g travels threw walls better because it has more bandwidth. This was from a "tear 3" tech agent.....I now have no faith in what anyone from Verizon says.
Actually 4G is in the 700MHz spectrum which is a longer wavelength and hence does travel through walls better.
The higher the frequency the more attenuation through walls.
I had one of the managers from Best Buy Mobile stop in my store, and and I got to talk to him about the "leaked" internal memo. He said it's true he read it a few days ago. It's going to be rolled out the 4th and the Rezound starting on the 6th. There were other phones said to be rolling out "soon" it doesn't clarify if it's a full fledged update of just soak test, and the full manager memo is said to have included tech contacts for BBYM, and Verizon and Motorola. So I am assuming this is not an April Fool's joke, but I am guessing that Motorola gave an over exaggerated estimate so people would be glad to get it sooner then Big Red forced it out even earlier.

No, simply installing a system update won't do a factory reset of your phone. You should be able to install it without erasing any of your information, apps, or files from the phone. The updates are designed to not have to do a reset. However, many people find that doing a factory reset after installing the update helps to cut down on any potential problems or conflicts from updating the OS (and generally it will make the phone run smoother). But you don't have to do a factory reset.
My experience with my tablets upgrade to ICE any issues that occurred after the upgrade were related to applications that I had previously on my phone not being compatible with ICS. The best way to avoid that is to not automatically load all of your applications but to load them back one at a time and do some testing with them to make sure they have not had any negative effect on your system.
