If you don't feel like rooting your phone or running a custom rom there is still a pretty easy way to get a custom look on your device. Start out by using a third party launcher like Nova to give your device that AOSP look and feel. Once you have installed your custom launcher its time to add a custom Icon pack. Today's icon packs can make your homscreen feel like it's from a whole new device.
