You can save the snickering and dumb comments pretty please, this is a serious question...
I want to make my phone porn/objectionable content proof. Who cares why.
I initially figured I could change my account settings with Verizon to "T13" or something. Still was able to get to some images through Google that were not good and also through android Market app. Besides, too easy to change the settings back unless I have someone else set the password on my account. And.. T13 messed up my navigation and something else I don't recall what.
So I figures I would Root and delete Youtube app and several others I don't want, along with the browser and market app. Well, looks like I can actually do this but, uh oh, now that I'm understanding how things work better, it's too easy to regain access. And I'm not sure if deleting browser is going to mess up my ability to do email or not so I havent tryed yet.
Basicly, I want a crippled Droid. I want to do the following and I need help figuring out how.
1) I want to retain at least Navigation, Email and a handful of helpful apps.
2) I want to be able to lock myself out of Internet browsing, market browsing, you tube, etc...
3) I want it to be reversible so I can update OS, etc...
4) I want it to be very difficult to undo. Should either require someone else to make any changes (such as password that I don't know) or take a healthy amount of time (at least 30 minutes).
The best I can come up with is Root, delete all the stuff, hope I can still do what I want, and remove ability to tether and any backups from my PC. Will this do it? Any thoughts? I actually need help here.
Plan 2 is forget the Droid, which would be a bummer, and go back to one of the few few phones that can't connect to the Internet. It would be lame but worth it for my peace of mind if I can't hobble my Droid like I want to.
Gracias
