i listened and took off my app killer.

I think it boils down to this........ everyone's phone is different. Yes we all have the same hardware but the internal components are made in batches and within those batches you will have slight variations. Thus all our phones are different. Then you add in those that are rooted and those that are not, all the different custom ROMs out there, etc. All our phones are different.

If you are finding that you are having good performance from your phone and you are currently using a task killer, then good for you. I personally will not put another task killer on my phone. Been there done that, won't go back. I had a task killer and started to experience force closes, horrid lags the whole nine yards. I removed the task killer and boom, improvement. Realizing that I may be treating a symptom, I started deleting some of the apps that I did not need or did not use. Again, more improvement. So if you are having issues with your phone, start with the task killer and then look at some of your apps. Oh and for those who will say "well your issues were from an app you had not the task killer". Both my husband and I have droids. He has nothing downloaded to his phone except the task killer and he also started having the same issues. Removed the task killer and all issues resolved. Based on my droid and my husbands, I do not feel task killers are needed.

Just my opinion.

I tried Task Killer, and just tried Big Killer and i keep having the same problem. After i kill the apps, they turn right back on in the background. this is getting annoying

There is a reason they are turning back on. Just leave them all be, stop being all OCD, uninstall all the task killers and let the OS do it's thing. You'll be surprised.

This is a never ending war wih people who wont learn how this operating systems works then whine when the task killer doesn't work

Im waiting for the surprise. All these things running in the background when im not even using it is making my phone run slower when i go online.

If you're rooted I'd recommend using Auto Killer or Auto Memory Manager instead. It modifies the native Android task manager to allow for more free memory.

I agree.. I use Auto Killer and it works excellent and the best part is that its "auto" just set and forget..

I found that once I got rid of my task killer app, my battery life significantly improved (because I wasn't OCD'ing killing every few mins). I don't notice any difference in speed now that I no longer use task killers. But I remember that good feeling I got when I closed things out and thought it made everything faster.

+1 for me as well.

I'm proud to say that I'm ATK free and I'm never looking back!dancedroid

It killed my battery and then I realized so does the battery widget. I just stream lined my phone. I got rid of the 'cool' apps, but really useless apps. Everything seems to be running fine and my battery life hasn't been better. I get an occasional force close on LauncherPro, but that's about it.

In fact, ATK was making my battery life worse because after it would 'kill' something, the phone would rerun the app again causing this horrible loop of rebooting the program and using MORE battery. IMHO because I don't know what else could be causing the drain. It didn't happen before I installed ATK.

SO, after being down this road and back......I'm sticking with my Android System Info and that's it. :)

This, people are just, blatantly said, stupid to research and understand that android is based off of linux and will store these apps and use virtually no resources while chached for quicker loading later. Auto kill all day you want the apps are just going to keep rerunning and kill the battery. Whoever made these task killers need to have their androids taken away from them. The only time I ever use or see the need for a task killer is when one of my apps goes a little crazy on me. In which case I use system panel for that.
