I'm sorry if this sounds noobish, but I don't regularly visit to keep up on things, If I did I'm guessing I would be constantly messing with the phone.

Anyway, when the initial Froyo leak came out, I updated and have been running it for awhile. I followed this thread to do the update and haven't done anything else.

What is the latest version? Can I just download the latest Chevy ROM and install using the update.zip method? Is that really all I need to do?

Sorry again, but there is just too much going on in all these forums and a lot of cross-posting between sections to get a handle on it all.

I believe 84b is still the latest for the Droid. I think it's a 91 version for the Nexus.

Its 91 for both..so far only chevy ss 4.4 is based on 91 so that's the newest and in my opinion the best

I'm confused. I still think it's 84B.

I just assumed he meant a clean version. I'm waiting for a clean version for my droid.

I have no idea how they got it, but for me 91 bases seem to be fasdter and have double the battery life compared to 84b bases

Faster I can believe. Double the battery life? I'll have to experience that to believe it.

I just can't see how a modification in an OS can double the battery life of a smart phone. In every release they have put out so far they said battery life improved but I sure son't see it.

I agree. I can get up to 24 hours of time if I play the cards right, so to see someone talking they can get 48 doesn't makes any sense. If you never touch your phone, maybe... But what would be the point of having a smart phone if you never use it?

I call bull pucky.

I don't think anyone isn't calm :p

I do realize "getting double the life" is a general statement, but reading into your statement was easy to do without additional facts; that's why I threw in my extra info. 24 hours for me is pushing it, but I was just trying to get some clarifications.

You are right, user experiences do differ, but it's nice to know to what recent that difference is.

How long have you had phone? Out of curiosity.

I only ask because for most people the first couple of months the battery seems much worse than it is because we are so busy learning and playing with everything. :p

Maybe that's why you only experience 10 hours then possibly now that you really know the phone youaren't doing the "turn on, turn off" ever ythree minutes battery drain lol

Just a thought. I think some rom/kernel setups do work better, but not by double; I would look into additional reasons why your battery life has gone up that much.
