When try to watch shows on tv network sites..message comes up that can't be shown on this device..do I need an app for that?...

They block it. How dare you try to use their product! The closest you can get is using apps like hulu plus (not free), TV.com app (free), crackle (free), and Netflix (not free)

I don't want to link to it because it isn't exactly legal, but if you search google for the TV show you are looking for you will find a way to stream it using flash.
