How to change the PNG Icons on themes??

Ok,

I have all the icons I wan't to change on the root of my SDCARD but when I open them with MM they don't show up. Is that because they are not xml format?

How can I convert them to xml?

I also have root explorer, any guru on this?

Use Better Cut or Folder Organizer. Both apps in the market.
