I have decided yo root my droid 2...but im wondering how do you back it up or whatever you have to do so that if something happens and i need to send it back to verizon, the warranty isnt voided? I hope this makes sense thanks!

So I just download that and they won't be able to tell I rooted it and the warranty will still be good?

I just rooted my 2 with 1-2-3 easy root and it worked great but I didn't back anything up before I did this like the previous question can I get back my warranty since i'm rooted now??
No worries, when the need arises you can always sbf to stock.
SBF wipes the phone and completely reflashes the memory back to a factory state. you need to use RSD lite for windows and the system SBF file to do this.
Here is a link to where you can download the latest Droid 2 sbf along with rsd-lite which is needed to install it. You can do a search on this forum for further more in depth instructions on the process.

This link is for the latest sbf for the latest update, the old sbf can also be found by searching.
If you are going to root and flash roms it's a good idea to begin reading up on sbf and rsd lite. The more you mess with your phone, the greater chance you will need it at some point. It's better to be familiar with it ahead of time to ease your panic when the time comes you need it....
