How do you get a contact to your homescreen?

Just browsing thru some of the screenshots of peoples droids I would like to put some of my contacts out on the homescreen, how do you do it?

long press... shortcut.... contact

Press and hold on desktop, press short cut, press contact

 

[RW-1]

Press and hold on the homescreen.

Select shortcut, then either:

Contact, which is their contact page.

Direct dial, which now dials them upon selecting.

Direct Message, opens messaging to them upon selecting.
