I'm a relatively newbie and have been pretty much figuring things out as I go. One thing that has stumped me is emptying out my delete folder. Is there a way to delete my Outlook messages that are in the delete folder?
Do you find that even if you delete them they reappear the next time you sync? I have this issue with my g-mail account. I have to log on to the website and clear my "trash" from there to get it to remove permanently.
1 - Sometimes when I double delete emails on my computer, they will reappear on my driod phone days later. How is that happening?
2 - My exchange account keeps dissapearing & I have to keep setting it back up. I read in a forum to change the sync to once a week instead of once a day. Then what is the point ???
3 - My screen keeps going black when I am in voicemail. I hit the keypad to put my password in & the first button I touch makes the screen go black & I can't get back in. Have to wait for it to "reset" itself. I read in the forums that it is because I have a screen protector on the phone & it is interfering w/ the sensor. So now I have to take it off & my screen gets scratched ??? Why bother making them???
I already had this phone replaced once & it is doing all the same things w/ this new one.
I have to say that these phones are like new cars. NEVER buy a 1st generation until all the bugs are worked out!!
I have figured out how to delete all or some emails in your Deleted folder using the Droid email app. I had over 4600 deleted emails and there was no way I could hit each one. Being the Information Security Officer this is a big issue. HERE IT IS:
1. From your home/work computer log into your email account (not the client on your desktop but the one on your ISP) - att.com, verizon.net, comcast.net, hotmail.com etc. Once in the account locate your "deleted or trash folder" - either look for a select all key or if you don't have one or the capability to check every email then click on the 1st email (DO NOT OPEN IT - JUST HIGHLIGHT IT) slide down to your last email on that page - HOLD the CTRL KEY and PRESS the "A" KEY. That should highlite every email on that page, click on the "DELETE" key and they are gone. You may want to try highlighting your 1st email and then go to the last page and last email - then hold the CTRL KEY and "A" - if it highlights them all, click delete and you have an empty trash/Delete folder. Any highlighted can be "DE-SELECTED by holding the CTRL KEY and using your mouse and click on those emails and the highlight should go away and show the email as unselected.
Now, go to your DROID - open your email account - under MENU click SYNC and once it is completed your deleted emails are gone. I tested this on my original Droid and HTC's Incredible using Hotmail, Gmail and my own personal email address.

Blanket deletion of all emails on Droid, NOT online
There have been a couple of online recommendations for blanket/mass email deletion. I think that there must be a droid-only solution for blanket deletion, as well as selective email deletion from one particular sender. Evan my quirky BB Storm 1 enabled me to do THAT!....Surely, this Android OS must be "smart" enough to provide this basic function but, apparently....it doesn't or, its hidden.
