How do I create a general Touchdown shortcut

If I press and hold my home page and add a shortcut to Touchdown, it asks if I want a shortcut for the calendar or e-mail or contacts. I don't; I want the overview page. How do I set that up?

Same as you would with any other app. Either:
* Long hold a blank space on the 'desktop' wallpaper, and choose Shortcuts, and then Applications. Select TouchDown
* OR open the App Drawer, find TouchDown, long hold, and then drop onto the desktop.

That doesn't work; Touchdown prompts me and asks me which kind of shortcut (mail, contact, task) I want.

* OR open the App Drawer, find TouchDown, long hold, and then drop onto the desktop.

That works. I didn't know that method. Thanks.

It'll only ask you that if you go to Widgets. If you choose Shortcuts->Applications you should only see the main TouchDown app.

Glad you got it working.

You missed a step. Long press, choose shortcuts, and then applications and then touchdown.

That's what I see now. I *swear* I wasn't picking Widgets before but I guess I must have been.

You were not picking widgets. You were choosing touchdown right after shortcuts. It is the bottom of the "select shortcut" screen.
