"Home" app error...unexpected stoppage.

I'm just started (30 minutes ago) having issues with the "home" app. When I hit the home key, it shuts down and i have to put my phone to sleep to get back. I have downloaded the gingerbread home app fromt he store, and it seems to work well, but I want the original back to working right.Thoughts?

Try clearing data/cache via "manage applications" under settings for the home application.

Did that. Helped for all of three clicks of the home button.Going to run the 'GO' launcher for now.
