Hey you all, I'm from the Seattle area and work in an action oriented serivce profession. That being said, I naturally gravitate towards all things fast, such as cars, the opposite sex, computers and now smart phones. I got my Droid a couple of weeks ago and wasn't sure if I really liked until some of my friends who have droids show me some of what it could do, and I was hooked!!
Like everything that fascinates me, I jumped in with both feet and started reading, researching ( been at it constantly for the last four days) which led me to YouTube, and then here.

After seeing the cool mods and all the other techno bling available for my Droid I was determined to Pimp My Droid! Well, I've already blew an install of Ulti Droid, which was very disappointing, but the good news is my phone is apparently unscathed, still working and I get to have another go at it.

I'm just stubborn enough to keep trying till I get that sucker to upgrade.! Hopefully someone will have mercy on me and point me in the right direction so I don't stagger around this site asking dumb repetitive questions, so I can start over and get this done! Like my namesake Ricky Bobby says " I wanna go fast!!"

sorry you had problems with Ultimate DroiD! was that with the rom installer or just on your own? i'm sure you'll find plenty of ppl to walk you through just about anything. what are you considering now?

Muchcimos Gracias CC!! Appreciate the welcome!! I did it on my own, after following step by steps on a couple different sites. I rooted fine, made a backup of my retail rom, but when I tried getting the latest recovery file it wouldn't show up on my phone. I then tried using the latest version 0.99.3.Same result. I think that might be the (root) pun intended of my problems. When I tried installing UD it wiped the cache and data, but wouldn't install either my backup or the UD. When I rebooted everything worked I just had to load my applications and set up email again. Now I want to know if I should delete all those files from my SD and start over or what??

Anyway... since it sounds like you like cars, I'll post a pic of my SRT8 Charger I love that freakin thing!!

Hey AD, thanks for the friendly welcome!! it is much appreciated for sure!! Hope to make some new friends, and I am very hot to rev up my Droid.!! That is if I can figure what I did wrong?? I am totally a man possessed at the moment. All my friends are really taking a very perverse pleasure in watching me stagger through this process. That's because they know I won't stop working ion it till I either figure sh.t out or run over the friggin thing with my Charger. That's just how I roll LOL.
