Hey all droid 2 just updated itself

just got the 2 in a insurance deal, i had the regular and they gsve me a 2. about 11pm iy updated itself to 2.3.2.0.a955..what is that and why. PS I am so new at this its a shame, but I still need all this stuff like roots and that gith? but have no clue how o and what they even do...lol...good luck to whoever tries to help me...hahahaha
