Help with transparancy for 2.2 (smoked glass)

Hi everyone,

I have always liked AdamZs basic smoked glass theme so I have been trying to make an update.zip for 2.2 that changes the status bar to smoked glass.

I basically have it working with the exception of transparency and font color when you pull down the status bar

Can anyone tell me how I change the text colors? I am not familiar with editing the binary xml files or services.jar at the moment but I would like to learn

Here is my current update.zip

any help on finishing this would be great

Same issue here too... even in Music.apk. Seems to be different in 2.2. I am also unable to change the "Verizon Wireless" text like I could in 2.1. Any tips?

The xml file is framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar_latest_content_expanded. Grab HxD and open that file. Do a hex string search of 08 00 00 1C. Change the value from 00 00 00 FF to FF FF FF FF. Save the file and add to the update.zip.

Thanks for the tip. It didn't end up being status_bar_latest_content_expanded.xml (it didn't exist) but i tried doing what you told me with status_bar_latest_event_content.xml and it seems to have worked

Are you sure you have the right background image? The transparency should be a standard image or a .9 image (not sure which one). I don't believe the transparency value is controlled somewhere in an xml.

I can provide an entire set of images for the framework.apk that should work....if you need.

I made an update.zip for smoked glass already and if you want to change the text colors and clock colors follow this link

[Guide] Change notification/clock/pull down text colors - Android Forums

Im throwing a white round clock with percentage into the smoked glass also. Well i did that for the last froyo build now I'm redoing it for this build. I also want to do a few other tweaks.
These are the shots from last build. I wanted to have blue going on and decided to switch but forgot to pull my blue droid out of pull down bar lol

transparent

I still cant figure out how to make my dropdown transparent. I used my celtics pulldown from 2.1, it loads perfectly and works fine, only its no longer transparent on 2.2.

So far

On BBv0.1 I figure since I cant see through it i'll put thebower's Pink floyd pull down up since i run that as my deskclock too. I had to rename the one in 2.2 took the Google part off and his MM theme worked like a charm. Also got my Superman batery. beautiful widgets and Launcher pro app handle all done up in superman already. My cheesy wallpaper too.
