Having trouble following the directions provided by HTC Mobile Phone Support. I would like to trim down a song and use it as a ringtone for a specific contact. I copied the entire song from my computer to the Rezound. Then I followed the directions provided by HTC below:

How do I trim an MP3 ringtone? closeThe Music application has a built-in ringtone trimmer. You can trim an MP3 song and set a part of it as your ringtone:
  1. On the Now playing screen of the Music application, press the Menu button.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Set as ringtone.
  4. Tap Trim the ringtone.
  5. Use the onscreen controls to trim your ringtone:
    • Drag the two trim sliders to the approximate start and end points of the ringtone.
    • Tap the left and right arrow buttons to more precisely set the start and end points.
    • The markers show the start and end times of the ringtone.
  6. After you’ve finished trimming, tap Set as.
  7. Then choose whether to set the trimmed song as your Phone ringtone or a Contact ringtone.
I play the song, so I am in the "Now playing" screen.
I hit "Menu", then "More" and select "Set as ringtone"
I only get the option to make it a ringtone for the phone or a contact.
I cannot find anywhere the option to "Trim the ringtone".

Any ideas what is wrong.
Thanks for your help.

It might be easier just to move the song to a pc and use Audacity to trim the file down.

Harajuku.....your name wouldn't happen to be Xavier in real life would it? You can PM me if you don't want it out in the open.

I knew a guy who like the moniker Harajuku. lol. So i figured I'd ask.

If you've never been to Harajuku....you gotta go. Interesting times there!

Trimming with music is easier than ringdroid. Go to music app. Select a song. Tap menu button on phone. Tap the more selection. Tap set as ringtone then select trim song selection

But that's the problem. I can't find the "trim ringtone" option anywhere.

That's what I'm saying I read those directions and it literally took me two seconds to do it. Took me longer to delete ringdroid from my phone:)
