Rename to "update.zip" and copy to the sdcard

Power off the DROID and power back on while holding the X key
When you see a "/!\" symbol, press both vol+ and camera
Use the onscreen menu to install update.zip

Once installed you will be able to run "su" from your adb shell.

thaty was how to root it...now i need some explaining to normal mode

1. do wedownload all 4 urls
2. what is sdcard
3. what is "su"
4. what is adb shell

other questions
5. once rooted, what happens next? is there a program we install to start getting things like we would get on a jailbroken iphone?
6. is there any cons to rooting a droid, any problems with the phone that would work regularly?

rooting isn't just something you do just to do it...
