My phone locked up after a call, so i rebooted. When I rebooted, the phone came up on the browser saying "launcherpro has expired, please go to www.launcherpro.com to update". When I attempt to do that, it gives me a "404: Forbidden" error. I cannot get back to my home screen. I even tried a restore, which took me back to BB 0.5, and i got the same thing!!!!! Anybody have a clue how I can get my phone back????

Guess you shouldn't have ignored the message you've been getting for the past five days saying launcherpro is about to expire.

I'm sure there's probably an easier way, but you could always wipe and reinstall.

Ignoring the msg is NO REASON to hijack my phone!!!!!

Troho, please edit your post for language. Just starring out letters doesn't prevent it from potentially being offensive.

You ignored the warning. You must now deal with the results. If you do not like how the dev has built this product you have every right to contact said dev and complain. May I suggest boycotting this product in the future?

You will have to do something to bypass the app. This will probably require a full wipe, or at least a boot into safe mode. No guarantee safe mode will work, however.

How can I boot into safe mode? I'm trying to salvage most of the info w/o loosing it during a full wipe. I have GDE saved on her SD card.

Edited, and my apologies. And believe me, I won't be using Launcherpro again!

No problem. :) Thank you for your cooperation.

Another option would be flashing a ROM that doesn't use Launcher Pro as the launcher -- if it's not the main launcher for the ROM you're on you might be able to flash it over it without a problem.

Thanks. I was on BB 0.6, so I installed (or reinstalled off Titanium) Launcher Pro. I had no idea it would hijack my phone after expiration. Never known of an app to do that. usually they will just stop working and I would just return to the default launcher. Anyway, I have wiped and reinstalled BB 0.6.1, and I will just stick with the default launcher Pete included. Thanks.

After hours of beating my head against the wall while tired, I loaded UD 2.3 on to her phone. Wiped cache and everything loaded fine minus home page icon apps. I could deal with that as long as her phone worked. Thanks for the idea. This forum is a life saver sometimes.

it's not launcherpros fault. you were told to update (for free, a 20 second process) several times and you didn't do it...

I'm sorry, but yes it IS LauncherPro's fault. If the software expires it should be able to automatically uninstall itself or set the Home screen back to the stock default.

Or it should make it damn simple to do this after it has expired (sounds like they didn't).

Can't even get into the forum over at LP's website right now - probably getting hit with a ton of angry users.
