help hiding stock apps like amazon mp3

Okay.. I am running cyanogen 5.0.8.... and I like everything to be clean... I was told that you can simply rename the files using the command prompt. Like to change the .apk to .apk.bak. I can not figure it out. How????? I have searched and searched and I need some help.

Well some apps I want to have acess to without needing to reinstall it.
