Help getting text messages from dead droid

Hi, I am hoping someone a bit more tech savvy than myself can help me with an issue.

My Droid phone died over the weekend, and I received a new one under warranty, swapped my SD card and battery, and everything is running great.

But, I thought my old texts would be on the SD card, and it appears they are not.

Is there anyway to retrieve the text messages from the old, dead, phone? It is dead dead, as in, cannot even power it up.

I was not smart enough to use an SMS backup program on the old phone (first app I downloaded on the new one, learned that lesson), but maybe there is some other way to get my messages off the old phone now?

I think you are sol, unfortunately. I think the only way you could get your SMS messages back from your carrier is with a court order, that is, if anything was that important and there was a legal reason to do so.

I was afraid of that. Nothing really so important as to go that far unfortunately, just a lot of information that I should have saved somewhere more permanent I guess
