Handcent blank text?

So I'm pretty sure people are aware of the blank text problem cuz i've seen it mentioned before but has there been a fix? I couldn't find anything in the search

slide the keyboard open. Use it to send the text. Then slide closed. That should fix it

when people send me pics or something i get a blank bubble from them from time to time, i have to use SaveMMS to view or save it then. and its not just in handcent, its the same in the stock app if i try checking it there
