Handcent and double message ?

I am getting double messages in my notification. One from handcent and one from the native messenger. How do I get just one. I made handcent the default but I still get double notifications ?!?!?
Any help would be cool.

go to MESSAGING
hit the MENU button
SETTINGS

it's in there
UNCHECK NOTIFICATIONS

Yes there is. He is talking about the "stock" messenger. Not Handcent.

I did exactly this and I still get double notifications....think Ill just uninstall it.

You obviously did something wrong. Try again. Handcent is worth it.

well i know im not too bright but unchecking two boxes isnt real hard......sooo it must be something else. i have both the two you say to uncheck unchecked and I still get them. im going to try an uninstall and reinstall.

Handcent double messge problem

Hey everyone...

So, lately, this problem has been happening more and more and it's really starting to bug me. I use Handcent as my primary Message app, but many times when I receive a message, I got two copies of an individual message. Now, I'm not talking about 1 notification from Handcent and 1 from the native Messaging app. I get two separate copies of many messages I receive (and, on top of that, two notifications from Handcent).

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
