Guide to Creating Themes?

Hey all, been hanging out for a bit around here -- finally decided to post!

I was wondering whether or not there was a guide to creating themes for ROMs anywhere. I've become interested in trying to theme a bit, start out simple, etc. I looked around but I couldn't find anything in particular.
