GPS Status - Share Feature

I have a couple friends with SPOT Satellite location units. Push a button and it sends a message to friends and family about your location.

Well the Droid GPS Status app will do something similar. While running GPS Status, push Menu, share, gmail and enter an email address. Recip gets an email with a google map link showing your location. You can add text to the message.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have seen it when messing with GPStatus, but always ignored it.

I fiddled with the QR code sending, and from this you can email the qr code, and the person getting it can scan it and get the map and/or get driving directions. Now if I just had any friends, this could be fun.

Seriously, this is kinda a cool way to send your location to folks, without the possible security issues of using google and lattitude. Pretty nifty.
