Google Maps Update ***PLEASE HELP***

Iam running stock 2.2 FRF57 38829
Kernel 2.6.32.9-g103d848 addroid-build@apa26 #1
Can someone please tell me how to do this update. I tried a couple of different ways posted one here and it does not work. Step by step please!

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 dev/block/mtdblock4 system
busybox rm system/app/Maps.apk
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
cd ..
cd ..
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 dev/block/mtdblock4 system
sync
getting unknown reason -8
This beginning to really make me mad. If I cant get this today Iam going back to 2.1.

The absolute easiest way is to simply load any Bugless Beast V0.3, Chevy's 4.2 or almost any of the good, current FRF83 roms. They all fix the map issue.
