I would love to have help in figuring out how to get google map directions to speak through my BT earpiece rather than phone speakers. Any ideas? Thanks...
When I have paired my Droid 3 with the Bluetooth in both a Hyundai Sonata and a Ford Exploroer (with Sync) and the directions do not come through the cars speakers. However, the voices while on a call are loud and clear.
To the OP, You will need an earpiece that's a2dp compatible.
In the car systems you will need to stream the audio through the head unit, this will not work if you are listening to the radio or CD. Think of it like inputs on a tv, the tv can only show one at a time.
Google navigation uses the media portion of your phone for its audio.
Splitting the phone calls and media audio is a flaw in the android operating system. Windows 6.5 had it perfect, It seemed foolish when I upgraded that such high end popular phones were so far behind when it came to Bluetooth. You could listen to any audio on any Bluetooth device years ago with Win. Mobile.
I'm sure people smarter than me know why android does it this way.
