Google has been known to sprinkle in Easter eggs on Google Maps to commemorate events and special occasions, but the most recent surprise might be the best yet. Google tweeted an image of Street View in Venice, Louisiana with banana peels from Mario Kart lining the road. The body of the tweet consisted solely of three banana emojis and a car emoji. Clearly, Google was preparing a Mario-related announcement for the coming days.

I'll have to use Google Maps instead of Waze tomorrow.

I can not get mine to work. I have uninstalled an reinstalled maps 3 times. There is supposed to be a yellow question mark to get it activated, but it is not showing up on mine. Anyone else having problems?

The question mark wasn't there when I just opened Google maps. I had to program a trip. Then it showed up.

thats no fun if you have to program a trip. it should be available for normal usage. I don't think I have ever programed a trip on google maps but I use it almost weekly. guess I will give it a try just to see mario...

I agree, but that's how it worked for me. I went back to Waze. It's more fun to use. The Mario car was fun, but not a huge deal.

I'm not too worried about it. Don't need it, just wanted to see it. I'm sure it's like new versions of Android. A lot of hype, but in the end, it's really no different.

@EyeOWA...what part of Iowa are you from? I'm up in NE Iowa. And no, it is nothing to lose any sleep over. I still like Waze the best anyway.
