google map 4.5.1 live weather not showing up

i enabled both traffic and weather on my live google map wallpaper.
i see live traffic but weather is not showing up?
running droid x on froyo.

also, is there a way to set the live map to a specific locatin and zoom perspective? it just defaults to my current location.

I do not see the weather either. I also just noticed I am now in Grand Rapids Michigan. Don't remember crossing Lake Michigan. Don't really see the point of having a map as wallpaper.
