good free dvd ripper/converter?

Anyone know of a good free dvd ripper/converter to use to put movies on the droid x? All the ones I found that are free put a watermark on the movie or cuts out the sound after 30 seconds.

I went with DVD catalyst 3, for $10. It seems to work fine, and is not a hit to the wallet. Can anyone suggest what settings I should use if I want good play back on a flat screen via the hdmi port?

You might want to check out Freemake. It's a pretty decent alternative to Handbrake.

Anybody want to share the best sitting to use to get the video to fill the screen and have good quality? Either with DVD catalyst or Handbrake?

I use the Droid HD settings in DVD Catalyst 3 and it looks great on the big screen through HDMI. I takes a bit to convert but it is worth it to me. I converted Avatar in the Droid setting and it looked ok, but went back and did the Droid HD setting and it looked much better to me.

With DVD Catalyst you just pick the device you have and the settings are already set, easy as hell!

I downloaded DVD Catalyst Free Droid X (or whatever it was called lol) and it keeps telling me "unable to open properly."
