going to s4 from razr maxx

What should I know? Seems alot is using prime launcher. I had go launcher and is a little laggy. I had go keyboard, go locker and go sms, was real laggy and deleted one at a time and ran better after each uninstall. I switched to handcent keyboard on the maxx and was great. Is there a similar to smart actions? I think I read that foxfi/pdanet works? Thanx

Best launcher out there is Nova, makes all the others look childish.

I was using TouchWiz for awhile and then switched to Apex launcher. Right now I'm using Aviate.

I think you'll like the switch to the s4.

Only reason I'd want a launcher is to crowd more icons on the screen. Sure would be nice if Android had a setting for icon rows and columns. I had a launcher on my Bionic, though have been reluctant on my S4 for some reason.

Moved from Motorola Bionic to S4 about 6 months or so ago.... loving it. No problems thus far and I use the heck out of it!

You can also use a 3rd party launcher to make the phone feel snappier and to change the appearance (theme plus icon sets).

Use paid version of Nova on my GS4 at work. Love it. On my Droid Maxx I'm happy with the stock launcher for now.

I use SwiftKey for my keyboard. As for texting, the stock Messaging app is good, but I've also used Handcent SMS. There are several good ones... it depends on your needs and preferences.

For my launcher, I use Nova Prime with the Nox theme/icon set.

Just curious, why fron an S4 to the Droid Maxx??
I came from a Droid Razr HD and although the build quality feels better, that was about it.
The S4, since it's a multi carrier phone has more accessory options and a full 1080p screen.
You can get a 3000mAh battery to replace the factory battery.
IR blaster, etc. etc.

I went for the S4 and passed on all the new Motorola phones because none of them have removable storage.
No microSD support is a deal breaker for me.

The GS4 is my phone provided by my employer. I still keep a personal phone as well which is my Droid Maxx. Despite the Galaxy's better stats on paper, I much prefer my Droid phone. Some of it is due to my preference for Motorola and in general I don't buy Samsung personally. Some of it is due to carrier. Droid on VZW 4g vs GS4 on Sprint 3g.

Didn't understand it was both. I just switched from Motorola. I was a die hard Mot fan. DROID X, Bionic, RAZR, RAZR Maxx, Droid Razr HD. I could not buy a phone with no removable media. I have seen too many phones die and I like 64GB and Motorola does not ship any of the new phones with that much memory.

Understandable! I was worried about the lack of removable media as well. Then I started looking at what I use the storage for and what I've been keeping in the cloud lately. Have never needed more than 32gb myself so I decided the MAXX was fine.

The GS4 is definitely a great piece of hardware but I just don't like it as much. Lol
