Gmail sync issue since last update

Since the last ota update, I can't get my gmail to automatically sync and check/notify me of new messages. Sync settings are set at 'auto', 'allow', etc.

Any ideas or input is appreciated...

Me to. Just have to go into gmail and refresh. No notification on new email either.
