GMail not syncing anymore? Anyone else have this issue?

Gmail just suddenly quit syncing. Even if I do a manual sync, nothing. Password is right. Anyone have a fix for this?

I know you don't want to hear this, but, the only way I have been able to solve similar problems with gmail was to do a factory reset, setup a different gmail account or use a third party app like K-9.

Have you tried going into your apps settings screen and cleared data? I had to do that last week and it fixed that issue for me

Tried deleting data. Ended up doing factory reset. Those are less painful with ways of restoring things afterward. Thanks all.

Yes, that did it.

I use LauncherPro Plus, and the biggest pain is trying to remember which widgets went where. The back up of the home screens doesn't work with widgets.

I just had the same issue and found a fix and the reason! If you use the Motorola power widget on one of your home screens and you have the sync button off, it will not sync! Also, if you go into your gmail settings for sync, the little check boxes will not show up either with that button shut off. That wiget controls the whole sync process!

Good find. Now that you mentioned it, I had that power widget installed and the sync toggle turned off. After I did the factory reset and setup everything I did not choose to use the sync toggle again...the sync toggle may have been the problem all along...it makes sense. Oh well, factory reset may be a PIA, but it is usually a good thing to do now and then.

For some reason, my syncing process with GMAIL has also had issues. When I delete a message off my phone, it works deletes it on my computer as well....works like it is supposed to. However, when I delete a message of of GMAIL at my computer, the message still stays on my phone. It used to work perfectly. HELP!

Email can sometimes be a little tricky so let me make sure I understand how/what you are using for email. Are you using the stock gmail app on your Bionic or are you using a third party email app like K9? Also, do you have a corporate sync setup? When you delete email from your computer are you doing deleting the email in the gmail web application?
