gmail not pushing emails

i am not getting my emails pushed to my phone. is there a setting that im not seeing? ever since i removed the gmail apk and downloaded it from the market so i could put on sdcard to save space for themes it hasnt been pushing emails. i also tried putting back to internal memory and rebooted and still same result.
any help would be appreciated!!!

It was a sync issue with gmail account under settings for all you that have looked at this thread.
