Gingerbread Droid Question

Since Gingerbread was recently announced that it is coming to the Droid 1, how long might it be for a custom rom to pop up?

Also, what sort of UI changes are expected from this update?

Sorry but i read further and it said it might just be a 2.2 update.

But, what UI changes are expected anyway?
